Three UK Experiences Network Outage, Disrupting Voice Call Services
Three UK experienced a network outage today that disrupted its voice call services across the country.
“Because of this issue, thousands of people across the UK couldn’t make or receive phone calls.”. However, data services remained unaffected.
According to DownDetector, reports of problems peaked around 9:30 AM GMT, with over 9,500 users reporting issues related to the network. By around 2 PM, that number had dropped to approximately 5,000 reports.
In a statement shared on X (formerly Twitter), Three acknowledged the issue and assured users that they were working to restore affected services:
We know there’s a problem affecting voice calls and we’re working hard to fix it. The good news is that data services are still working fine, so you can still make calls using messaging apps like WhatsApp or FaceTime.”. “Thankfully, data services are still running smoothly, so you can make calls using apps like WhatsApp or FaceTime. We’re really sorry for the trouble and appreciate your patience.” Three said in their statement.
This outage also affected Three’s MVNO (Mobile Virtual Network Operator) partners, including iD Mobile.

According to DownDetector, the outage — which also affected related networks like Smarty and iD Mobile — began around 7:45 AM BST on June 25.
Roughly 14 hours later, Three UK posted an update on X (formerly Twitter) saying that most services have now been restored and are operating close to normal.
However, some customers are still reporting problems with voice calls on social media — even a day after the outage began — suggesting that it may take a little more time for things to fully stabilize.
